POP GOES THE '70s! spent five amazing years on the Live365.com, winning the network's "Best Oldies Station" award two years in a row, and for the majority of 2007 was Live365's #1 '70s station. Building on this success, we have relocated to a great new internet radio network, 1.FM! As part of the network, POP GOES THE '70s! (also known on 1.FM as "70s") will no longer be one of a few hundred '70s stations, but instead the network's ONLY '70s station. You can find us by clicking on our colorful logo above. You can also hear us by going to the Radio sections on your iTunes (listed as "Absolute 70s") or Winamp ("1.FM 70s") players.
POP GOES THE '70s! is the '70s music internet radio station you've been hoping for! We feature three legendary '70s music groups -- ABBA, Captain & Tennille and The Carpenters -- as well as a classic TV or movie theme in a block once per hour. In between, we round out our 70's music radio playlist with a continuous supply of great 70's music from artists including The 5th Dimension, Jim Croce, Helen Reddy, Tony Orlando & Dawn, Carly Simon, The Jackson 5, Olivia Newton-John, Barry Manilow, The Osmonds, Elton John, The Spinners and more (see list below)! Plus one-hit wonders and many R&B, disco, rock and folk tunes that incorporate the 70's pop sound. It is our belief that '70s music defines a sound and not a strict set of dates. Therefore, included on this 70's internet music radio station's playlist are songs from 1969, the year we feel was the kickstart of the '70s music "sound," and take it all the way to 1982, the tail end of that sound. 1982 was also pivotal to our three base artists, ABBA, The Carpenters and Captain & Tennille: each recorded their final albums of original material all in that very same year. Pop Goes The '70s! is a 70's music radio station that gives every lover of 70's music the opportunity to regain the sense of euphoria they felt back then. Listen...and you'll remember.
